Cam alignment pin at 9 o'clock
This cam pin at 9 o'clock is now set for #1 cylinder. The Optispark has a slot that the cam pin slides into. |
Back of Optispark
#1 cylinder is marked on the back of the Opti. Align the cam pin slot with this mark and the Optispark should slide right in, flush with the timing cover. Never try to force the Opti in or use the mounting bolts to draw it up.

Water Pump Drive Seal Insert tool
This is the Kent Moore Tool J39087. It allows you to instal the Water pump drive seal perfectly. The seal has a double lip seal that is prone to leaks. It's overpriced at about delivered, but is worth every penny. I've used the old tricks of a deepwell socket, an the Sharpie pen cap. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. With this tool. it's done right everytime and only takes about 15 seconds.

Magnecore Plug wires
These 8.5 mm wires are the best you can buy. Linginfelter sells them for about . The soft 8.5 mm coating allows them to be mounted in all the looms on our cars, for a factory fit. |
I had to add the SLP decal
I figured the RAISS cold are intake along with the AF1 deflector qualifies the Ram Air Badge

Floor Shifter Completed
Floor shift installed, Stub on the steering column removed and the Impala Logo on the console replaces with Chevy Logo. This job was fairly easy without any problems. Planning and double checking was important when running the shift cable and mounting the console. |
